We extend a warm invitation for you to be a part of an exhilarating adventure. As owners/operators of Valentina, we have lived aboard full-time since early 2019. Our journey began in Marina del Rey, CA, and we've since traversed the Pacific coast, transited the legendary Panama Canal, and circumnavigated the Caribbean numerous times – a remarkable expedition that has led us through the enchanting landscapes of the San Blas Islands, Isla Mujeres/Cancun, Florida, The Bahamas, and most of the Greater and Lesser Antilles, including Los Roques and the ABC Islands. Earlier this year, we made a momentous decision to establish our home base in the Eastern Caribbean and begin charter service.

While St. Martin serves as our primary home base during high season, we frequently venture to other idyllic islands based on each guest’s request. In the quieter low season, we seek refuge in the tranquil embrace of The Grenadines and Grenada, ensuring safety and comfort. Join us for a charter experience that promises to create lifelong memories, forging an unbreakable bond with the sea and the world's most breathtaking destinations.

Meet Your Crew

  • Growing up as a 90's child in the vibrant California East Bay area and Sacramento Valley region, my childhood was filled with the thrill of competitive gymnastics. However, it was during the summertime, away from the gym, that my true passion for boating and water sports blossomed. Spending countless hours at the lake and wakeboarding with my family ignited a lifelong love affair with open waters.

While I may have caught the sailing bug a little later in life than some, it certainly hit me hard and fast. The enchantment of sailing captured my heart during a sailing excursion as part of a cruise in 2018. From that moment on, I sought out numerous sailing trips, including a transformative 7-day charter with Gustavo, my future husband, in the mesmerizing Angra dos Reis region of Brazil—an experience that forever holds a special place in my heart. On a bit of a whim, I visited the Fort Lauderdale boat show in October 2018, ultimately leading to the purchase of Valentina in Marina Del Ray, CA, just five months later.

In pursuit of warmer waters and the allure of better and more affordable margaritas, Gustavo and I embarked on a remarkable journey down the Pacific Mexican coast, welcoming the addition of our fur baby, Linda, during our exploration of the Costa Rican volcanoes. Our adventurous spirit then propelled us to transit the Panama Canal and become captivated by the splendor of the San Blas Islands.

While we were basking in the beauty of the San Blas, the world was abruptly halted by the arrival of Covid-19. For four months, we found ourselves quarantined in the lush jungles of Puerto Lindo, Panama, tied to a mooring. With perseverance and a touch of good fortune, we obtained special clearance from the coast guard, enabling us to embark on a non-stop seven-day sail to Isla Mujeres, Mexico, a destination with fewer restrictions and better tacos.

As Covid-19 protocols began to ease, we resumed our journey, navigating through the waters of Florida, the Bahamas, and twice around the enchanting eastern Caribbean, including memorable stops in Los Roques, Venezuela, and the ABC Islands in 2022. Following our journey through The Thorny Path in early 2023, we decided to make the eastern Caribbean our home and share our passion for sailing by offering extraordinary charters throughout the Leeward and Windward Islands.

Come embark on an unforgettable adventure with us aboard Valentina, where we combine our love for sailing, expertise in the travel and hospitality industry, and commitment to creating exceptional experiences. Whether you seek relaxation, thrilling water sports, or immersive cultural encounters, our charters promise to exceed your expectations. Join us on Valentina and discover the true meaning of luxury, freedom, and the joy of sailing in paradise.

  • Originally from a farm town nestled in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, I spent my formative years surrounded by rolling hills, lush forests, freshwater rivers, waterfalls, and abundant greenery. Despite being far from the ocean, my vivid imagination transformed the vast blue sky into a boundless sea of wonder. Later, as a teenager, I embarked on a new chapter by relocating to Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, where I completed high school and entered the realms of customer service and government public welfare projects for three enriching years.

In 2008, I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey and established an IT support service catering to small businesses within my community. This endeavor not only empowered local entrepreneurs but also fostered a sense of collaboration and growth. Eventually, in 2013, seeking new opportunities, I moved to the United States. Since my arrival in the USA, I have immersed myself in various domains, including the restaurant industry, hospitality, and customer service. Rooted in my unwavering passion for service, I take pride in my keen attention to detail, sincerity, and the Brazilian concept of 'aconchego'—a warm and cozy atmosphere.

My life changed when I met Josh, and we decided to sail the world together. We left our ordinary lives behind to explore the unknown, learning something new every day. Onboard Valentina we had found our new home, but it wasn’t a place, it was an ongoing adventure.

As a Brazilian, I naturally possess the gift of gab and relish in the opportunity to connect with our guests, understand their preferences, and unveil the wonders of the Caribbean Islands that have captivated our hearts. I am also delighted to share glimpses of my culture, starting with brewing traditional Cafézinho (classic Brazilian coffee) and baking homemade Pão de Queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) using cherished recipes passed down from my vovó (grandmother). For sundowners, we serve delectable Caipirinhas in an array of delightful tropical flavors. If you're open to learning, you might even leave with the ability to impress your friends by speaking some Portuguese or mastering a few Samba dance moves.

Join us on this remarkable experience as we embrace the essence of hospitality, cultural exchange, and the pursuit of lifelong memories aboard Valentina. Together, let's sail towards extraordinary horizons.

  • Within one glorious and lucky day my life changed from being an orphan amongst the mountains and coffee plantations of Atenas, Costa Rica to being the most important member of my new family and sailing the world aboard Valentina. I was living in a shelter that a kind woman was running from her small home. There were 16 of us dogs, and 25 cats, which made for a very full house and never enough food! On the day I was adopted I didn’t even have a proper name yet, but my Papai (daddy) kept calling me “Que Linda, Que Linda”, which I guess means something in Portuguese or Spanish or something… so I shortened it to Linda and now that’s my name. People often ask what kind of dog I am, and to be honest I don’t really know. I suppose I’m the spoiled kind.

I hadn’t yet seen the ocean when my dads brought me home to Valentina. The dark smooth reflective flooring off the back of sugar steps looked interesting and I saw another dog there, so I went to investigate. Just as I was reaching my paw down to meet this other pup, I fell through the floor! After my dads fished me out, they explained how water works. Well, now I know better, and now I am a water aficionado. I have honed my swimming skills and beach detective prowess. I am happy to help you chase off those pesky lizards, and I always captivate onlookers with my impressive fishing talents. I have even caught a few. I love treats, nice people, kids of all ages, and all other dogs- big and small. I try to make friends with cats too, but they are a little mean and kind of scare me sometimes.

I am privileged to have collected more passport stamps in my four short years on this earth than most humans do in an entire lifetime. Since leaving Costa Rica I have been everywhere with my dads on Valentina. My dads say that I was originally supposed to help with security onboard, but I just want to play and be everyone’s friend, or just take a nap. That doesn’t stop me from being effective, however. Upon seeing me onboard most local islanders think twice before approaching our floating sanctuary. This helps discourage those with less than pure intentions, and I am an excellent judge of character. I can smell intent from a mile away and I am not shy about telling my dads when something smells fishy.

As we set sail to explore picturesque beaches and vibrant snorkeling spots, I am eager to share my zest for life and playful spirit with you. Join me aboard Valentina, where the allure of the sea merges with the joy of discovering hidden treasures. Let us embark on a voyage together, where the splendor of the ocean meets the warmth of companionship. Welcome aboard!

We are so honored to have won THE BEST CREW IN SHOW award at the 2023 VIPCA Yacht Show!

Welcome to our table! I'm Gustavo, your private chef. I'm dedicated to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, drawing inspiration from the Brazilian concept of 'aconchego.' With a deep commitment to service and a background in the restaurant and hospitality industry, I'm passionate about crafting memorable experiences. We cater to your group's individual preferences and dietary restrictions as we want each of our guests to love the fine food and drinks we serve. I look forward to connecting with you, exploring the Caribbean's hidden gems, and sharing a taste of my Brazilian heritage, from traditional Cafézinho to beloved Pão de Queijo. As the sun sets, savor our Caipirinhas, a tropical journey to Brazil. Your culinary voyage aboard Valentina promises to be a fusion of flavors and cultures, an unforgettable celebration of hospitality and life itself.

Tailored to Your Tastes: Each day of your charter is a blank canvas waiting for your preferences to take center stage. Your party's desires guide the way, ensuring that every moment aligns with your interests.

Personalized Planning: Before your journey begins, you'll complete a preference sheet, and you'll also have a pre-charter conversation with our crew. This invaluable input allows us to create custom menus and itineraries, perfectly aligned with your wishes.

Real-Time Adjustments: Nature can be unpredictable, and so can your daily preferences. Our itineraries are designed to be flexible; they can change as swiftly as the weather or your mood. Your charter experience evolves to suit your evolving desires.

  • Absolutely! We're thrilled to provide you with the chance to get hands-on experience and become the captains of your own adventure.

We take pride in offering our guests the unique opportunity to learn the ropes of sailing or operating the boat, transforming you and your group into Junior Captains. Our experienced crew is more than happy to guide you through the intricacies of sailing and navigation, making sure you feel confident and comfortable at the helm. This isn't just a journey; it's an opportunity for you to actively participate in the magic of the sea, enhancing your charter experience and creating unforgettable memories. So, if you have ever dreamt of navigating the waters, now is your chance to make that dream a reality!

  • Of course! Our charters are mostly design for older kids and adults to enjoy, but please feel free to inquire if you will be boarding with children under 5 and we can accommodate!

  • Yes, of course! They will be there 24/7 to cater to anything you need. They have their own crew quarters and can adhere to any privacy requests you have. This is beneficial, not only for your overall vacation experience but for your safety as well.

  • Charters are typically 7 nights (8 days), noon boarding to noon disembarkation. Please enquire if you need other arrangements and we will do our best to adhere to your travel schedule.

While a 7-night charter provides an excellent experience, if you have the flexibility in your budget, we highly recommend considering a 10-night charter for an even more luxurious and immersive experience. This extended duration allows you to slow down the pace a bit and spend more time in each anchorage, enhancing the overall quality of your voyage. A 10-night charter is the ultimate choice for guests seeking a little extra in their luxury experience!

  • Onboard Connectivity & Entertainment

You're in for a well-connected and entertaining experience while aboard Valentina. We've equipped the vessel with a cutting-edge Starlink High-Performance Marine receiver and maintain a Mobile Priority Global Coverage plan boasting a generous 1TB data allowance each month. This means you can freely use as much data as you desire, whether we're cruising or anchored.

To further elevate your enjoyment, Valentina is outfitted with a top-of-the-line Fusion sound system fully integrated with Starlink. Feel free to bring your favorite music along for the charter. If you have specific playlists in mind, we recommend downloading them in advance to ensure uninterrupted entertainment for everyone on board.

And for those beachside adventures, our sizable JBL speaker is at your disposal. So let the music fill the air as you share the joy with friends and family on your preferred social media platforms, thanks to Starlink's dependable connectivity. Your online and entertainment needs are well taken care of throughout your journey with us.

  • You will have your own cabins with private en-suite bathrooms (heads, as we call them on board). Each cabin can accommodate up to two guests. Valentina comes fully equipped with AC in all interior spaces. Each cabin has its own thermostat control and electric fan, electrical outlets, lighting controls, Fusion sound system, and television. All heads have full hot water showers, electric flush freshwater toilets, sinks, and vanity and storage cabinets. All cabins have a closet and storage drawers. Valentia is equipped with two water-makers, two ice-makers, three beverage refrigerators, a full residential-sized refrigerator/freezer, a dishwasher, a laundry machine, an espresso maker, and much more. We are truly outfitted with every modern convenience and comfort available.

Additionally, we have a larger flat screen TV in the salon for family movie nights and a sound system with light-up speakers that will knock your socks off! For some quiet downtime, we have a selection of interesting books and fun board/table games to choose from.

  • We provide ample island-living supplies, including environmentally safe SPF 50 sunscreen, but if you prefer to bring your own it must be the lotion type and be reef-safe. Please do not bring spray-on sunscreen or Coppertone products as they will yellow the deck of the boat and make it very slippery. We prohibit the use of these products on our vessels due to the damage they cause. Also, avoid sunscreen with self-tanner or bronzer as those will stain fabrics and damage the boat as well. In the USVI, there is a ban on sunscreens containing the Toxic O’s that damage reefs.

  • Packing for your Charter

As seasoned sailors, we recommend traveling light for maximum enjoyment. Opt for a soft-sided duffel bag instead of cumbersome hard luggage, as it's easier to stow and will ensure a more comfortable experience. Below is a sample packing list to assist you:

    -Four to five shirts

-Four to five shorts or dresses

    -Three or four swimsuits

-Beach cover-ups - the Caribbean sun can be deceptive. Don’t get burned!

-Two pairs of shoes: a pair of flip flops and, either a pair of hiking shoes, tennis shoes, or water shoes (whatever you prefer to walk in if you are planning on doing some of the beautiful hikes ashore). Remember you will be spending most of your vacation barefoot :)

-Phone or camera and charger (we have travel adapters on board if needed)

    -Hat and sunglasses

-Seasickness remedies, if anyone in your party is prone to this ailment

-Cash for purchasing souvenirs, cocktails on shore, etc. We will most likely not be passing any ATMs once we are on charter. We recommend obtaining Eastern Caribbean Dollars at the marina ATM if possible. Most locals will accept USD but ECD is easier and will give you better value.

    -Passports

    -Personal cosmetic and toiletry items

-An easy-going, fun, and adventurous attitude! :)

  • -Water bottles - we provide a stainless steal Sailing Valentina water bottle for each guest, and they will be labeled with your names on them when you board!

-Stainless steal Sailing Valentina insulated beverage cups are also provided and work great for keeping coffee hot and cocktails cold!

-Snorkel gear - we have fins, masks and snorkels on board. We recommend that you bring your own mask and snorkel if you have them, as this tends to be the best fitting gear.

-Sunscreen, especially no aerosols or sprays. We provide reef-safe and environmentally friendly sunscreen in SPF 50 that you are free to use. If you do prefer to bring your own, please consider a sunscreen with mineral ingredients (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) which are less harmful to corals and reef life.

-Hair Dryer- we have a hair dryer available in each cabin that is compatible with our electrical system.

-Bath & Beach Towels - we provide both for each guest. We will supply a fresh set of towels mid-charter.

-Soap, shampoo & conditioner are provided in each shower. Some guests prefer to bring their own which is totally up to you. Whatever you decide to pack, be sure to bring along all of the items that are going to make sure you are comfortable.

  • Our rates are all-inclusive. Taxes, re-location fees (conditions apply), cruising permits, licenses, standard onboard supplies, and food and beverage as specified in the charter agreement and on our menus are all included in our rates.

  • -Flights, hotels, and ground transportation are not included, BUT, we have an excellent travel partner that can help with this free of charge.

-Food and drinks away from the boat are not included.

-Crew gratuity of 15-20% is customary, not included, and at charterer’s discretion. Gratuity should be given to the captain at the end of the charter.

  • You could. It is recommended that if you are unsure, or if you have a tendency to get motion sickness, you bring a preventative medication like Dramamine or Scopolamine patches. Ginger chews work great too!

  • On Valentina, we stand out for a multitude of reasons:

  • What water toys don’t we have? We have two giant towing tubes, two different floating islands, a professional beach volleyball set (we love a good volleyball game!), a wakeboard, 3 SUPs, 2 kayaks, kids' beach toys, lots of snorkeling gear, a giant beach tent canopy, a portable electric cooler, a beach speaker, Go Pro, drone, mermaid tails, and 3 sea scooters!

We also have 2 fishing rods and large selection of lures.

Also, as part of our service, we will take Go Pro and drone footage and save it all to an SD card that guests take home with them along with branded water bottles, drink cups, hats, pens, and tank tops or T-shirts.

  • When it comes to cooking, we cater to the unique tastes and preferences of each group. While our personal culinary styles lean toward the Mediterranean, favoring low-carb, high-protein dishes rich in vegetables and lean meats like chicken and fish, we also understand the universal love for indulgent treats. Yes, we adore french fries, pizza, waffles, and ice cream just as much as the next person! So, rest assured, we're here to create a dining experience that delights your taste buds, no matter your culinary inclinations.

  • We understand this can be a sensitive issue and we want to accommodate however we can.

We are able to accommodate some dietary restrictions depending on what they are and which islands we are visiting. Please scheudle a call and discuss your needs with Chef Gustavo.

    4.  45 days (6 weeks) before the charter, the remaining 50% balance is due via bank wire to the charter escrow account.
